Bring the whole family. Children are always welcome. We offer 4 acres of pick your own strawberries at 215 Barber Hill Road in South Windsor at the tree farm. The strawberry-picking season is normally from early June until early July. We provide free boxes to put your berries into and we automatically deduct ½ pound for the weight of the box, so you are only paying for your strawberries. Each box will hold approximately 10 pounds of berries when level full. Each box will hold approximately 15 pounds of berries when heaping full. When you bring one of our boxes back for your own reuse, we will give you a 10 cent refund. We will not buy back used boxes. A quart container will hold from 1.25 to 1.5 pounds. We sell pick your own strawberries by the pound. As always, children are welcome on the farm, as long as they are supervised. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a family picnic on our grounds.
We have 4 different strawberry varieties to choose from. Our
early season variety is Annapolis. Annapolis has attractive, high
quality berries that maintain their large size through several pickings.
Our early midseason variety is Mira. Mira has attractive, glossy,
medium-red berries that are firm and have good flavor. Our midseason
variety is Allstar. Allstar has very large, light colored, sweet
berries. Our late midseason variety is Jewel. Jewel has large berries
with superb quality and flavor. For daily picking conditions and hours, please call us at (860) 648-2233. Use berries within three days of buying them. Leave them unwashed until you use them. Berries absorb water from washing, which causes them to lose flavor
